Basha Bekele is a standout producer in Bensa, Sidama — winner of first place at the 2024 Cup of Excellence. Badigalo is his newer, higher-elevation site, and this is our first season sourcing from it; the results have been excellent.
Grown at 2,300 masl and processed as a honey lot (hand-picked, floated to remove defects, depulped with a portion of mucilage retained, then shade-dried), this 74158-varietal coffee offers kiwi, orange blossom, and guava in the cup.

The aroma opened with very prominent honey notes, which were quite inviting. As an espresso, the chocolate tones and sweetness came through pretty strongly, leaning more toward the sweet side than bitter, which is exactly what i wanted.
